The Nursing Research Poster Gallery at the 2017 NCONL Conference created its usual high degree of interest and interaction. Jennifer Lewis, PhD, RN, MSN/MBA, Education and Practice Consultant, NC Board of Nursing was the 2017 recipient of the “Overall Excellence Award” for her work entitled “Nursing Error in North Carolina.
Elaine Haynes, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, Chief Nursing Officer at CHS-Lincoln, was the recipient of the “People’s Choice Award” for her work entitled “The Day Clostridium Difficile Flat Lined.” Pictured left to right are, Sally Bulla, NCONL Research Committee, Elaine Haynes, Jennifer Lewis, and Cindy Boily, President, NCONL.

The 2017 NCONL Membership Meeting and Conference again brought together nursing leaders from across the state in an atmosphere of learning, strengthening relationships, and review of nursing research.
The theme emphasized the super hero characteristics of nurse leaders and highlighted heroic and non-traditional leadership roles. Participants also benefited from the contributions of speakers who were expert in resilience, workplace and home organization, advocacy and differentiating a holistic experience from patient satisfaction.
A Nursing Research Poster Gallery, organized by the NCONL Research Committee showcased nursing research by nurses across North Carolina, and a reception debuting the Poster Gallery was sponsored by the Chief Nursing Executives/Officers from Duke University Health System, Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Nash Healthcare Systems, Inc., Sampson Regional Medical Center, UNC Rex Healthcare, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and WakeMed Health & Hospitals.
